Alfa Romeo: The best of 1000 Miglia 2021

Last week saw the exceptional 1000 Miglia 2021 take place with Alfa Romeo: in addition to the final victory, emotions and indelible memories remain awaiting the next edition, from the historic Alfa Romeos registered by the Heritage department , all at the finish line, to the ovations gathered on the roads of the Red Arrow from Giulia GTA and GTAm

From Brescia to Brescia, from Wednesday to Saturday: a circle has closed and the days have flown by. Like every time something memorable happens, time runs very fast. And the circle that has closed truly represents perfection, completeness: it is the emblem of continuity. The same continuity that characterizes the almost century-old relationship between Alfa Romeo and the 1000 Miglia: the brand holds the record for victories in the competition, eleven between 1927 and 1957, and in this edition Alfa Romeo was again the most represented car manufacturer, with 50 cars competing, and above all the winning house. On the top step of the podium, in fact, the 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Super Sport of the Villa Trasqua team, driven by the duo Vesco-Salvinelli

Exceptional crews for the cars registered by the Heritage department

All the historic Alfa Romeos entered by the Heritage department, who completed the race, received applause. The four jewels of the historic collection of the Alfa Romeo Historical Museum were led by exceptional crews, including  Stellantis Chairman  John Elkann with his wife Lavinia Borromeo aboard the 1900 Super Sprint. Stronger than some technical drawbacks the multi-titled Giovanni Moceri and Daniele Bonetti on the Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 Super Sport, and the enthusiastic Alberto Vassallo and Giovanni Bianco of the digital Car & Vintage platform on the very rare 2000 Sportiva. Finally, the Guest Car 1900 Sport Spider with Roberto Giolito, Head of Heritage, and the TV presenter Camila Raznovich.

Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA and GTAm

The events of this year’s 1000 Miglia were intertwined with the best of the current production of the Alfa Romeo brand: Giulia GTA and Giulia GTAm. The two cars, in the Bianco Trofeo and Verde Montreal livery, aroused enthusiasm along the entire route, and expressed their nature as 100% street legal racing cars: the development project made use of the skills of Sauber Engineering and the drivers. of the Formula 1 team Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN Antonio Giovinazzi and Kimi Räikkönen. Not only that: their unique and functional design capable of overcoming time has made them since the launch of the instant classics, perfectly at ease among the cars of the largest traveling museum in the world .In fact, among the peculiarities that have always distinguished an Alfa Romeo creation, there is certainly a unique style in the world that arises from the skilful combination of form and function.

385 historic cars at the start, 341 at the finish, 1,719.81 kilometers, 4 days of driving, over 200 municipalities, 7 regions. These are the numbers of the 1000 Miglia 2021, always in the name of beauty and elegance. An authentic spot to the most fascinating Italy, which enhances creativity, which has paid homage to Verdi’s music, which promotes art, culture and craftsmanship, which pampers its guests with good food and the quality of living in harmony with nature.

“It was wonderful to have the opportunity to discover sometimes unexplored places and villages in our country. My special thanks go to the whole organization and to Roberto Giolito, who accompanied me along the way. Participation in the 1000 Miglia should be put by everyone on their to-do list in life ”, commented Camila Raznovich. But, as Stellantis Chairman John Elkann and his wife Lavinia Borromeo declared “[…] in addition to the public, the landscapes, and the beautiful cars, the competitive element is very important and we are very proud that an Alfa Romeo has won this edition “.
So now all that remains is to wait a year to relive the emotions and the passion of Alfa Romeo at the most beautiful race in the world.
