Iron Dames to make History in France as first all-female team to enter Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup
An appointment with history for Iron Lynx on the occasion of the 1000 Km of Paul Ricard, valid as the second round of the Endurance Cup of the GT World Challenge powered by AWS. For the six-hour race, for the first time in the SRO championships, an all-female crew of Doriane Pin, Sarah Bovy and Katherine Legge will take to the track.
The 488 GT3 Evo 2020 of the “Iron Dames”, registered in the Pro-Am class, will join the Ferraris number 51 and 71 that usually participate in the series in the Pro class.
Deborah Mayer, project manager and founder of Iron Dames said, “We have a phenomenal line-up with Doriane, Sarah and Katherine. Doriane joins the team after having impressed during the final phase of the selections for the FIA Girls on Track – Rising Stars which awarded Maya Weug, protagonist last weekend of her first race weekend with Iron Lynx in France. We are absolutely proud to be able to field the first all-female crew with a Ferrari in the GT World Challenge.
Doriane Pin, Sarah Bovy and Katherine Legge to drive Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 in Pro-Am class
The Iron Lynx racing team confirms it will field an Iron Dames entry, with three female drivers, in the upcoming Paul Ricard round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup – the first time an all-female squad has entered this racing series.
The Iron Dames are a collective of female racers within the Iron Lynx team, which so far this year has competed in the Ferrari Challenge Europe, Michelin Le Mans Cup, European Le Mans Series and FIA World Endurance Championship, with the 24 Hours of Le Mans to come in August. Adding the GT World Challenge Europe is a natural progression for the squad, which aims to develop and inspire the next generation of women in motorsport.
The confirmed line-up for the 1000km Paul Ricard race on the weekend of 29/30 May, which starts at 6pm local time and races into the night, will be:
- Doriane Pin, France
- Sarah Bovy, Belgium
- Katherine Legge, United Kingdom
Also driving in France for the Iron Lynx squad will be Ferrari Driver Academy racers Callum Ilott and Davide Rigon, plus Ferrari Competizioni GT drivers Nicklas Nielsen, Antonio Fuoco and Alessandro Pier Guidi, joined by accomplished French GT racer Côme Ledogar.
The race can be watched live online via the GT World Challenge website, while both Iron Lynx and Iron Dames can be followed on Facebook and Instagram. Racing with Ferrari at iconic circuits all around Europe, Iron Lynx’s season continues to inspire and engage as the team looks ahead to further success in the weeks and months ahead.
