If you’re one of the lucky few for whom money is no object then when it comes to cars the world is your oyster, certainly that is the case for Canadian collector, Olivier Benlouou of OB Prestige Auto, who worked directly with the Italian carmaker’s CEO Horacio Pagani to create Supernova.
The Pagani Huayra Roadster BC was unveiled in 2019 and with just 40 cars being built, is in itself a rare thing but it’s fair to say this particular version – the Supernova, named after the stellar phenomenon – with the exterior of the vehicle completely customized, it is the only one of its kind.
That exterior is certainly eye catching, with exposed carbon fibre in a color called Ora Rosa (Italian for “rose gold”) it also features Bronzo Chiaro and diamond sparkle wheels and accents, completing the effect with red pinstripes and red brake calipers, we like it a lot.
The customized effect continues on the inside of the Pagani hypercar, brown leather with tartan inserts on the seats in combination with exposed carbon fibre and gray Alcantara on other surfaces, that exterior colour of Ora Rosa also makes an appearance here and there. The car’s instruments also feature a gold tint to match the car’s exterior.
The special one-off Pagani was recently delivered to Pfaff Pagani of Toronto, who helped their customer out with the creation of the Supernova. “This wasn’t the original configuration,” Chris Green, the general manager of the Toronto dealership said. “It was a last-minute change and we’re really glad Olivier decided to make the bold move.”
It seems the only thing that hasn’t been touched is the Hypercars power unit, coming from a 6.0-litre, twin-turbo V12 built by Mercedes-AMG. The car features updated turbos and makes 800hp and 774 ft lbs of torque, weighing just 2,755 pounds, that means this Pagani will do 0-60 mph in around 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of more than 200 mph.. The engine is paired with a seven-speed single-clutch automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.
If you wanted a Huayra Roadster BC the original price for the car was $3.4 million, but with all 40 build slots long since gone quite what it would cost to purchase one now, let alone create something similar to this stunning Supernova model, we couldn’t say, but then again if you have to ask….
