Stefano Coletti to race Electric Alfa Romeo Giulia for Romeo Ferraris

Romeo Ferraris entrusts the Giulia ETCR to Stefano Coletti.

Romeo Ferraris has announced that Stefano Coletti as its first driver for the PURE ETCR 2021 season. The 31-year-old Monegasque will have the opportunity to drive the Giulia ETCR by Romeo Ferraris at Vallelunga, during the test session organized by WSC ahead of the 2021 PURE ETCR kick-off, which will be the first appearance of the car designed and built at Opera. Coletti has proven his high level of performance mostly with single-seaters, having won in Formula 3, Formula Renault 3.5 and GP2, before demonstrating his talent in sportscars and GT more recently. 2021 will mark his debut in touring car racing, and the partnership with Romeo Ferraris will be his first participation in a programme directly managed by a constructor. For both parties, the start of a new, exciting challenge.

Michela Cerruti, Romeo Ferraris Operations Manager
“We will be involved in the 2021 PURE ETCR as a full constructor, rather than in a customer racing position like in the past, and this entails greater responsibilities. The choice of drivers is never trivial and opting for Stefano is a very motivating move as we embark together on this new journey. He is a fast driver, very determined and still young in the world of tin-top car racing. This electric project is new for everybody and represents a great opportunity for all players involved.”

Stefano Coletti
“I was very happy being called for this season by Romeo Ferraris. The trust placed on me, despite my experience with touring cars is almost nihil, makes me happy and gives me the motivation to do my best and repay the team for this opportunity. I thank Michela Cerruti and Mario Ferraris, because this kind of opportunity comes rarely in life. To be able to work closely with a constructor in the development of a new car is for sure a challenge, but we are not afraid and are actually boosted to go for great results. We are anxious to take the track!”.
