Abarth Ready To Compete On Two Fronts This Weekend

Mid-summer races: Abarth competing in the mid-August weekend both in rallies and on the track

Mid-summer of races, two international events are scheduled from 14 to 16 August that will see Abarth protagonist in rallies and on the track.
The second round of the ERC – European Rally Championship – valid for the Abarth Rally Cup 2020 is held in Latvia with three teams driving the Abarth 124 rallies: the Polish Dariusz Polonski and Lukasz Sitek (Team Rallytechnology), who last year this race had finished second, the Czech crew composed of Martin Rada and Jaroslav JUGAS (Team Agrotec Abarth), who last year had raced the Rally del Barum, and finally the Italians winners of the first round of the Abarth Rally Cup 2020, Andrea Mabellini and Nicola Arena (Napoca Rally Team).

The Liepaja Rally takes place on a course characterized by very fast special stages on a dirt but compact surface, with fast wide-radius corners that will enhance the qualities of great balance and performance of the 124 rally.

The race starts from the town of the same name on the shores of the Baltic at 12.00 on Saturday 15 August and ends on Sunday 16 at 18.30. Two stages in the program with 10 special stages for a total of 180 km of timed speed in a total length of 607 km.

At the same time, in Germany, the second round of the FIA ​​ADAC F4 Championship powered by Abarth takes place on the Nurburgring circuit.

On single-seaters powered by the Abarth T-Jet engine, young drivers from karting compete in a series with a strong international connotation. In the first heat, held on 1st and 2nd August at the Lausitzring, the young Englishman Jonny Edgar won in two of the three races, while the third was won by the Finnish Elias Seppanen.

On the iconic German circuit, the drivers compete in qualifying practice on Friday 14 August. Race 1 on Saturday at 12.00, the other two races on Sunday at 12.00 and at 16.00. Live streaming on the ADAC Motorsport.de website.
