Abarth Entertains In Rally & On Track

Entertainment and competition with Abarth in Rally Liepaja in Latvia and on the track at the Nurburgring

There was no lack of spectacle in the mid-summer weekend races, which saw the Abarth 124 rallies on the dirt road of the Rally Lepaja in Latvia, second round of the Abarth Rally Cup and the FIA ERC European Championship, and the single-seaters of the FIA ADAC as protagonists. F4 Championship powered by Abarth on the Nurburgring circuit.

The very fast Rally Liepaja rewarded the experience of the Team Agrotec Abarth drivers, the Czechs Martin Rada and Jaroslav Jugas, who managed to reach the finish line of this very difficult race, collecting the victory points in the Abarth Rally Cup. it had been dominated at the beginning by the Poles of the Rallytechnology Team, Dariusz Polonski and Lukasz Sitek who had clearly taken the lead but, an off road in the last special stage forced them to retire. At that point it was the very young Italian Andrea Mabellini, with Nicola Arena (Napoca Rally Team) who took the lead. A problem in the second stage stopped the winner of the Rally di Roma Capitale, who still keeps the head of the general classification of the Abarth Rally Cup on a par with Rada.

The next appointment is the Azores Rally, with a dirt track, scheduled in the Portuguese archipelago from 17 to 19 September.

Great show on the Nurburgring circuit in the three races of the second round of the FIA ADAC F4 Championship powered by Abarth, in which there were three different winners. In the first it was the Italian Gabriele Minì – a great protagonist also in the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth – to prevail over the British Jonny Edgar and the Finnish Elias Seppanen. In Race 2 Edgar won ahead of Seppanen and Minì, while in Race 3 it was the German Joshua Durksen who won ahead of the American Jak Crawford and Minì, who thus climbed the podium three times.

The general classification of the German championship sees Edgar in command with 109 points, followed by Seppanen with 89 and Crawford with 69. Minì, who had not been able to participate in the first appointment because it coincides with the Italian championship, is 7th with 55 points.

The next round of the FIA ADAC F4 Championship powered by Abarth is scheduled at the Hockenheimring circuit from 18 to 20 September. The Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth will be held in Imola from 28 to 30 August.
