With the most subtle of camouflage added, we have out first look at the new Quattroporte from Maserati. Apart from the front end, which appears to sport a lower front grill with chunkier fins, it still retains the crescent style headlights into its sleek design. Other than that, the four door saloon stays mostly unchanged, but why alter a working formula.
The other rumours around the new trident salon, is that it will have the option for a plug-in hybrid, which will run the smaller engine from the Ghibli range. The standard engine is expected to be lifted from the new Trofeo V8 line. It is also expected to feature level 2 autonomous driving, which is essentially a beefed up cruise control but with added assisted braking and lane control, which allows it to maintain a safe distance from the car ahead.
For the interior, not much is currently known as to what will be changed, if at all. It has been floated around that it will receive a brand new entertainment system using the Google Android system, including full satnav and phone connectivity.
Time will tell if any changes will be made prior to release, both externally and internally. But rest assured, the new Quattroporte will be a fine addition to the collection.
