Alfa Romeo Championship Ready To Race with Revised 2020 Calender

The 2020 Alfa Romeo Championship is ready to race again after the season’s race calendar has now been revised.

Like all other Motorsport events this year the Championship series found itself being forced to be put on hold with the Covid-19 pandemic but the organisers are now delighted to confirm that the the 750 Motor Club Alfa Romeo Championship will be taking to the grid next month, in what will be the 39th consecutive year.

Snetterton is now a double header on Saturday 18th July and, the Championship also have a 1-day double header at Silverstone International on Sunday 23rd August. The Anglesey and Oulton Park dates are unchanged from the original calendar dates.

At the moment these races are to be held behind closed doors, i.e. without spectators but hopefully that will change at some point.

The Alfa Romeo Championship thrive’s on variety in contrast to most one-make Championships. with 9 different models having raced with the series in 2019.

Joining 750 Motor Club for its 39th consecutive year in 2020, the Alfa Romeo Championship places great value on its distinguished racing heritage but is also a forward looking formula, constantly moving with the times to ensure close, exciting and high quality racing for drivers and spectators alike. The championship also thrives on variety in contrast to most one-make formulae, with more than 10 different models of Alfa Romeo currently racing, in addition to welcoming Fiat, Abarth and Lancia models in two of the classes.

As a friendly and supportive championship, the paddock welcomes new and experienced drivers alike and is proud to have had two female champions in recent years. The Alfas are a racing community, helping and respecting other competitors and promoting clean, close exciting racing, so if you are looking to race an iconic marque in this kind of environment you need look no further. Racing an Alfa is also one of the most affordable ways to go racing, with build costs being relatively modest as are the prices of competitive models available for sale.
There are three main championship classes, plus an ‘Italian Invitation’ class for any cars that want to race but do not meet our regulations.
Unlimited capacity production-based Alfa Romeos, Fiats and Lancias racing on slick tyres, including supercharged and turbocharged cars, with sequential gearboxes also permitted.
Power Trophy
Permits many modifications to standard but cars run to a maximum power-to-weight formula. Fiat and Lancia are eligible as well as Alfa Romeo.
Twin Spark Cup
This is a standard production class for Alfa Romeos that use the 2000cc 16v Twin Spark engine, racing on Yokohama AO48 control tyres.
