Lamborghini has been pretty busy of late, after revealing the Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster and Huracán EVO GT at the Monterey Car Week, as well as the Aventador S by the American artist Skyler Grey this month, it seem’s Lamboghini is not content to just sit back and relax for a while, the Italian supercar maker has now asked us to “Just open your eyes to the future,” as it posted a teaser on it’s Instagram account.
Lamborghini tell us ‘something new is on the way’ in the post. From the image revealed that’s not much to go off, the the blacked-out Lamborghini looks like it depicts the front of a low-slung supercar wearing Y-shaped LED running lights. The company’s logo is the only other visible detail, the car certainly seem’s to bear a resemblance to the Terzo Millennio concept which was unveiled as a design study in 2017
Given the caption also asks ‘Are you ready for the International Motor Show IAA in Frankfurt?”’ Given all that the Supercar will get it’s unveiling next month in Frankfurt there’s a good chance it’s Lamborghini’s long-rumored hybrid ‘LB48H’ hypercar. The company has, allegedly, already shown it to potential customers, and it was rumored to have looked like the Terzo Millennio concept. But a lot has changed since this report surfaced.
The LB48H is set to use a hybridised version of Lamborghini’s famed V12, the new Lamborghini could very well be a plug-in hybrid previewing the next generation Aventador, still using Lamborghini’s V12 but adding an electric motor at the front, perhaps even powered by supercapacitors rather than batteries – just like the Terzo Millennio.
