Set to come racing into Goodwood Festival of Speed will be New Zealand Formula Drift Japan 2018 champion ‘Mad Mike’ with his latest creation, NIMBUL, his very special drift racing Lamborghini Huracan.
Mad Mike’s latest project was the stuff of his dreams, which ironically came about after a conversation at the Goodwood Ball, now less than a year after chatting to the head of Lamborghini at the ball, Mad Mike returns with NIMBUL and judging from his latest video below, in which it races against Eduard Nikoleav in a Russian-built 9,500kg KAMAZ MASTER truck it is going to tear up the track!
The Lamborghini Huracan has gone through the teams Mad Lab for various modifications, with a new own built steering system and sway bars for the Lamborghini, as well as a new digital suspension enabling the supercar to lay flat to the ground when static also installed. The Lamborghini Huracan or NIMBUL as it is called, has new brakes, and a new ECU controlling a variety of new additions from nitrous to the exhausts to produce 800 BHP, new rims with styling cues taken from the legendary Lamborghini Countach, as well as a safety-enhanced interior and a wider body kit, which was designed by Liberty Walk founder Kato San.
Mad Mike said in a press release, “Bringing the NIMBUL to life is a dream come true for me. Ever since I can remember, I’ve always wanted to create a drift ready supercar. It took four weeks to turn the Huracán into the NIMBUL and I can’t wait to let it loose in front of the crowds at the Festival of Speed.”
We can’t wait either Mike, now let’s go…
