This weekend I ran for the first time at Teesside IKR Sprint. After testing on Saturday in the blazing hot sun, Sunday was a little cooler which made for an interesting race. The great thing about the Teesside IKR Sprint, is that it is live on YouTube via Alphatiming.
Due to the cooler track, I qualified 17th on a huge grid of 28. In heat one, I smashed by way up to 9th, but only managed 10th and 11th in the following heats. I feel like I raced really well, putting in some great moves on a very new and fast track, against some experienced drivers. In the final I managed 11th place, which annoyed me a little (as seen on the weigh bridge afetr the final race…. oops) I was aiming for top 10 before the day started.
After looking back through my data, and lines, there is certainly room for improvement. I will be back for more at Teesside next month. Read more about this race weekend on Monkey Motorsports
Now looking forward to some professional driver coaching by Adam Smalley who races in the Ginetta GT5 Championship. Then on to round 6 of the Hooton Park IKR to see if I can improve on my 2nd place last time out.
Finally, don’t forget to look for me ( monkeymotorsports_42 ) on Instagram for live updates during race days.
