‘Cars in the Park’ Returns for Leyland Festival
Enzari is returning to Leyland Festival on Saturday 15th June to take part in their growing car show ‘Cars in the Park’.
Leyland Festival is an action-packed day brimming with fun activities and entertainment for all the family including live music, Paws in the Park fun dog show, sports activities, fairground, entertainment, trade stalls, food court and local producers’ market.
The car show starts by following the procession of floats, marching bands, dance troupes and community groups in the festival parade, which runs right through Leyland town centre from Hough Lane through to Worden Park. Vehicles then head to a large static display area in Worden Park, where the rest of the festival action take place.
Car Show organiser Tim Dryburgh, owner of Leyland Car Care Company, said: “Cars in the Park is an eclectic mix of new and old, sporty and quirky. Supercars, including Lamborghinis and Ferraris, will run alongside vintage trucks and classic cars – there will be something to excite all interests and ages!”
Another highlight will be the return of Local lad Kevin Simm, who will headline the festival. The former Liberty X star, who also won The Voice in 2016 and is currently touring with Wet Wet Wet as lead vocalist, has made time in his busy schedule to perform at the Festival.
This year there will be more live music performances than ever before, with two festival stages. The Acoustic Stage will be located in the Food Court and the Main Stage will be in the centre of the park. As well as the headline performance from Kevin Simm, there will be a stellar line-up of local talent including: Breaking Waves, Bines, Renee Maré, Connor Banks, Catherine Sullivan, Kev Jameson, Just Giorge and Phil Turner.
The Car Show organisers have also come up with a unique way to officially close the Festival – they will be hosting a ‘Pop-off Competition’. Show participants will face each other in a series of pop-off heats to see who can create the most impressive engine pops. One vehicle owner will be crowned ‘Festival Pop Star’.
The Festival continues to offer great value for money and remains an affordable day out for all the family. Entry to the festival is £3 per person with 16s and under free. Advance tickets can be bought for just £2.50 and will be sold by a number of businesses across Leyland including: Paces & Laces, Peppermint Cottage, Poppies Flower Design, Leyland Market, The Market Ale House, Solicitors Direct, The Flying Pig Pizza and La Corte.
