Over the past 72 years, some of the best sports cars, supercars, hypercars and racing cars have rolled out of the Prancing Horse’s Maranello stable like the 166MM Barchetta, 250 GTO, 275 GT/B NART Spyder, 330 P4, 288 GTO, F40, 458 Speciale, LaFerrari and 488 Pista to name a few. But the J50 is one of the most rare and best looking in my opinion.
The Ferrari J50 was built to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ferrari operations in Japan. Only 10 were built and its powered by the 3,9-litre twin turbocharged V8 engine, producing 681hp and it gives life to the 488 models too as this rare Prancing Horse is based on the 488 Spider and this relation can be seen on the interior.
As for the exterior, every panel is new and takes on features of past Ferrari models. The designers redesigned the sills and two carbon air channels are present in the front hood. Thin headlights which are more horizontal and narrow give the J50 a sleek look, a overhauled engine cover, decklid, and bespoke wheels make the J50 even more special. Ferrari gave the J50 four taillights instead of two which are present on the 488.
Now a J50 is up for sale in Japan on JamesEdition. It’s considered used but according to the listing it has a big fat 0 on its odometer. Many details including pricing haven’t been made available to us unfortunately.
Whoever has deep enough pockets to acquire this rare Ferrari will be getting an absolute gem.
