There is a saying that you can’t improve on perfection and certainly in the Supercar world you would imagine it hard for anyone to improve on these cars that the makers have spent millions perfecting, from the way they look to the way they drive. Indeed it’s fair to say many after market tuning companies when they get their hands on a Supercar often turn it into something that makes you cringe. So it is good to see that some tuners seem to know what their doing and Novitec is no stranger to developing and tuning some pretty special supercars, the German aftermarket specialist has most recently worked on the McLaren 720S and the Lamborghini Huracan.
Offering a stylish but aggressive styling pack for the Ferrari 812 Superfast, the Novitec upgrades are fine tuned around a wind tunnel-tested carbon fibre aero package. The aerodynamic changes mean a front spoiler lip in matte or glossy finishes, special rocker panels, dual air outlets on the bonnet, new side mirror caps, and new surrounds for the side air outlets, all this also reduces front-axle lift, resulting in better handling stability at high speeds. Novitec has lowered the supercar with sports springs that are calibrated with a front lift system which will raise the front of the 812 Superfast by 40 millimetres with the simple press of a button inside the cabin, so even driving through London you should be okay as you negotiate those speed bumps.
The upgrades continue round the back of the Ferrari where a the new exhaust system saves up to 11 kilograms over the standard 812 model and boasts 110-mm tips finished in either matte or polished stainless steel. A rear spoiler lip and a carbon fibre upgrade for the rear fascia complete the aero package on the car.
Sitting on new forged wheels developed with Vossen measuring 21 inches at the front and 22 inches at the back, they are wrapped in high-performance Pirelli tyres suiting the Ferrari perfectly.
Currently the package is purely an aero upgrade as it doesn’t increase the Superfast’s already considerable 789 horses however Novitec says it is working on performance upgrade for the 6.5 litre Ferrari V12.
No news on prices yet but as they say if you have to ask…
