Ferrari 812 Hardtop Convertible On The Way

It might be considered the wrong time of the year for a new drop top but according to Ferrari historian (and prancing horse expert) Marcel Massini, Ferrari is about to unveil the very thing, not only that it will be it’s top of the range supercar, the 812 Superfast, pairing together the magnificent V12 model with open air motoring.

Unlike the limited edition F12-based F60 America, which featured either a fabric top or a removable carbon fibre roof, the new one 812 Superfast convertible will have a hardtop much like the existing 488 Spider and Portofino.

Aside from the new hardtop we expect the 812 to pretty much be on a par with the ‘standard’ version, with it’s 6.5-litre V12 producing 789 hp, expect performance to remain impressive delivering a 0-62 mph time of 2.9 seconds, with a top speed of 211 mph all delivered through the rear wheels, a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and aided by four-wheel steering.

The big question for collectors is whether this latest droptop from Maranello will be a limited affair or an addition to the supercar makers range, once thing is for sure if you want one I suggest you start being very nice to your local Ferrari dealer…
