Lamborghini will soon be presenting it’s first ever hybrid, currently internally called the LB48H, according to reports it will be given the name Unico. Quite why it seems to be given this name are uncertain, as a quick Google search reveals a manga and anime character of a baby unicorn with white fur, a pink mane?! Unlikely we are to see a furry raging bull?! No doubt the name also has another meaning elsewhere.
According to the rumours, the hybrid supercar Lamborghini Unico will be strongly influenced by the Terzo Millenio, which debuted a year ago. Features of the machine will be a lightweight construction and carbon fibre, giving us a preview of what future Lamborghinis will look like.
Power wise the new hybrid will have the 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 tuned to 789 hp currently found in the Aventador, but will now be connected to an electric motor for an additional 49 hp or so, giving a total output of around 838 hp.
This won’t just be another one-off special either, sources claim Lamborghini will build 63 of it’s hybrids, for the su of around £2M, as for when it will be revealed, we could see the Supercar Hybrid make an appearance as early as next March at the Geneva Motor Show.
