Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder With Celebrity Status Heads To Auction

The Lamborghini Gallardo was introduced in 2003 and had a production of ten years. During the Gallardo’s ten year production run, over 14,000 examples of the baby Lamborghini were produced which made the Gallardo the best selling Lamborghini road car to date. The Lamborghini Gallardo was available in coupé and spyder form and a number of special edition Gallardo’s were produced before production ended and the Gallardo was replaced by the current baby Lamborghini, the Huracan in 2014.

The Lamborghini Gallardo was a very attractive and fast vehicle and it still is even by today’s standards, and so it  doesn’t surprise me at all that a few celebrities own or owned a Gallardo. One celebrity that did own a Gallardo is singer Rod Stewart and now that exact vehicle he once owned is going up for auction.

This is it, it’s a 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and it was purchased brand new by Rod Stewart himself through Lamborghini’s dealership in Edinburg, Scotland. This Gallardo Spyder was ordered with a Celeste Phoebe paint finish and Blu Scylla and Avorio leather interior. Celeste Phoebe was the shade of light blue that was used by Lamborghini on early Gallardo press cars and this unique paint colour goes together very well with the two tone interior.

This right hand drive Gallardo Spyder spent two years in Rod Stewart’s garage before he sold the vehicle to a person living in Austria. When Rod Stewart decided to sell the vehicle it had a mere 2,243 miles (3,610 kilometers) on it’s odometer. Since the current owner purchased this celeb ride nine years ago, he has only covered 1,231 kilometers with this Italian supercar which takes the overall mileage up to a mere 3,008 miles (4,841 kilometers).

The 1st generation Lamborghini Gallardo which includes this Spyder, was powered by a 5.0 liter naturally aspirated V10 engine, which produced 513 hp (382 kW) of power and  is capable of achieving a top speed of over 310 kilometers per hour, whereas the newer 2nd generation Gallardo was powered by a 5.2 liter naturally aspirated V10 engine, which produced 552hp (412 kW) of power.

The overall condition of this vehicle is described as “excellent” and it will be crossing the auction block at RM Sotherby’s London sale on September 5, 2018. Because of its celebrity ties and very low mileage RM Sotherby’s estimates this Gallardo Spyder will sell for between £120,000 – £150,000 and all documentation which proves it’s celebrity ownership will be provided to the person with the highest bid.

Yes I am sure you could find a similar or newer Gallardo or Gallardo Spyder for a cheaper price but none of them will have the celebrity status that this Gallardo Spyder has, and over the years that status will only increase the value of this baby Lamborghini. With it’s unique exterior and two tone interior at least you know people will think you’re sexy everytime you drive it and because of that, this Gallardo Spyder is worth every penny.
