Lamborghini Countach Is Supercar Barn Find

It isn’t unusual to read about a barn find, maybe an old MG discovered in a garage or a Citroen in the loft of an old farmhouse (yes really!) as cool as these are it’s the other extreme of the car world that really gets us excited, those Supercar finds that are pretty rare and this latest one is right up there.

This latest barn find, comes from the world of Reddit and involves an iconic Supercar from decades ago, a 1981 Lamborghini Countach, the Supercar which adorned bedroom walls far and wide.

Reddit user ‘eriegin’ says that this particular Countach belongs to his grandmother – that’s a pretty cool Grandma who owns a Lamborghini! However this Lambo has been sitting idle in the garage collecting dust for about 20 years.

Bought by his grandfather in around 1989, eriegin tells Reddit “My late grandpa bought it for his exotic car rental business in 1989, but after insurance costs became too high for him to operate the company, he kept the car (and many others including the Ferrari 308 in front of the Lambo) outside/in leaky garages for 20+ years instead of selling them. Don’t ask me why, I have no clue,” he wrote.

So a Lamborghini Countach as a barn find, as if that wasn’t cool enough it turns out this particular raging bull is a Countach 500S, one of just 321 examples built. The car is powered by a naturally-aspirated 4.8-litre V12, and while the Redditor claims that it is in poor condition, it could easily be worth in excess of £200000 – or, if restored, more than £350000.

We just hope they have or find the means to restore the iconic Supercar to how it should be and who knows we may just see it back in the light of day very soon.
