Rally and Track for the Abarth Racing Weekend

Another exciting weekend is in store for the drivers who have chosen Abarth Racing cars to compete in two different thrilling motorsport categories. In Romania, young driver Florin Tincescu (ROM) with co-driver Alina Pop (ROM) will be competing in the Harghita Rally at the wheel of their Team Bernini Rally Abarth 124 rally. Strong of his excellent results, Tincescu is the revelation of the Rumanian championship, which is remarkably competitive given the massive presence of next-generation all-wheel-drive cars. Tincescu secured an excellent fourth place overall finish a few weeks ago in the Transylvania Rally, winning the R-GT category.

The Harghita Rally will be starting in the town of Odorhelu, located in Harghita county in a history-seeped region of Transylvania, on Friday, July 13 at 2:30 p.m. There will be two rounds. The first will end on the same day at 8:07 p.m. and the second will take place on Saturday, July 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 6:26 p.m. There will be twelve special stages, with a total of 121 km of time trials out of a total course of 413 km.

The fourth round of the Trofeo Abarth Selenia, with the spectacular Abarth 695 Assetto Corse Evoluzione and Abarth 500 Assetto Corse car, will be staged at the same time on the Mugello track in Italy.

After the first six races (two for each of the three rounds) Italy’s Cosimo Barberini is leading the ranking with 121 points having collected four wins. Young Italian Andrea Mabellini, who finished first in Race1 in Misano Adriatico, is currently sharing the second place at 92 points with Finn Juuso Pajuranta.

The Abarth 500 Assetto Corse scoreboard is being led by Stefano Lazzaroni, ahead of Aurora Cori, who is first on the women’s ranking.

The weekend programme on the tough Mugello circuit will kick off with the practice sessions on Friday, July 13 at 11:25 a.m. followed by the qualifiers at 4:40 on the same day. Race 1 will start at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday the 14th and the second round will start on Sunday the 15th at 9:00 in the morning. The races will be broadcast live on Sportitalia.

The “Scorpionship”, the official Abarth community which counts over 100,000 affiliates, will turn up en masse. Members will be offered the unique opportunity to experience all the race day excitement with the drivers on the pit lane a few minutes before the race starts.
