After 5 years, the Misano circuit will return to host the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe. The third of the six double rounds of the season will take place this weekend (June 23 and 24). After the Monza and Silverstone rounds, the continental series will be back in Italy to present another exciting challenge with a line-up of almost 50 cars and the absolute novelty of the two Saturday’s races taking place at night, in addition to an unusual subdivision that will group into a single line-up the AM and Lamborghini Cup classes and into a different one the PRO and PRO-AM categories.

The 2017 champion of the highest class, Loris Spinelli and the Colombian Juan Perez scored three wins out of four races with the third car of Antonelli Motorsport. Takashi Kasai, victorious at Monza together with Philipp Wlazik with the colors of VS Racing, has to recover a gap of 14 points over the previously mentioned drivers, but at Misano the Japanese will share the cockpit with the American August MacBeth. Immediately behind, by only three points, is the Scandinavian duo of the Target Racing team formed by the “rookie” Simon Larsson and the 2016 PRO champion Dennis Lind. Then, there is the other pairing of Vincenzo Sospiri Racing made up of Edoardo Liberati and Hans-Peter Koller, who took their first podium at Silverstone and finished second in class in Race 2, after the Italian had been the fastest of all in Q2. However, the protagonists could also be the two crews of Iron Lynx Motorsport that took to the podium in England, namely the one consisting of Lorenzo Bontempelli and Emanuele Zonzini and that formed by Stefano Colombo and Francesca Linossi.

So far, there have been four different winners in the Lamborghini Cup, in which the Dutchman Gerard Van der Horst will challenge again his teammate and compatriot William Van Deyzen. The two drivers, who are separated by only seven points, are respectively ranked first and second and took a win each. The Thai Supachai Weeraborwornpong (Team Lazarus) and the Frenchman Joseph Collado (AGS Events) have both a victory to their credit and are respectively ranked third and fourth in the Lamborghini Cup standings.

Both races can be followed in live streaming on the website squadracorse.lamborghini.com/live-streaming and on the Lamborghini Squadra Corse Facebook page www.facebook.com/LamborghiniSquadraCorse.
