Fittipaldi hits Misano with a resounding clean sweep

The FDA’s Enzo Fittipaldi took three pole positions and three wins in the fourth round of the Italian Formula 4 championship, held at the Misano Adriatico circuit. Gianluca Petecof scores valuable points.

The 16 year old Brazilian was clearly on top form, as he took the maximum number of points available, after securing three pole positions and converting them into three wins. This amazing exploit means he now leads the championship.

Fittipaldi stuck to the same script for all three races, leading every lap from pole. “It was a great weekend with three poles and three wins,” he said. The car was really competitive all weekend and I am very happy to be back in the lead of the championship, which is where I want to be come the end of the season. All the hard work from the mechanics, engineers, the FDA, the Prema family, came good in truly perfect style this weekend. We have to continue like this, holding up the Misano weekend as the template, in the hope of repeating it as soon as possible!”

Gianluca Petecof left Misano with a good points haul too, finishing just off the podium in Race 1. He could have done better than that in the second race, but a collision with Leonardo Lorandi meant he had to pit, which dropped him out of the points. Gianluca finished fourth in Race 3, but post-race scrutineering revealed his car to be 700 grammes underweight and thus he was excluded from the results.
