A rather special and unique Ferrari F430 Challenge is going to auction in Florida next month with RM Sotheby’s,. Expected to fetch a six figure sum, possibly even exceeding it’s original list price, the hand painted Italian Supercar is the work of British Artist Ben Levy.
Ben was given the task of creating something different for Ansa Motorsports in Miami in 2015. Taking three days, and a lot of spray cans, the renown ‘graffiti artist’ covered the 4.3-litre V8 engined supercar in words such as “money”, “envy” and “cash”, obviously a tongue in cheek dig at a car fetching in the region of £120k new.
Ben admits it was a fairly nerve wrecking experience working on something as valuable as the F430 Challemge, as well as being the first car he had worked on.
The Ferrari F430 Challenge was non road legal production-based race car built by Ferrari. The car was based on the standard F430 and used the same 4.3 litre V8 engine, with a 0-62 time of 2.89 seconds, the cars top speed is 202mph. It was introduced at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show to supersede the Ferrari 360 Challenge.
