Unveiled only a few weeks ago at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, Ferrari’s latest Special Supercar, the 488 Pista was undoubtedly the star of the show, with it’s 3.9-litre biturbo V8 producing 711 horsepower, a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox that can shift in as little as 30 milliseconds in Race mode this latest in a line of Specials is a truly beautiful supercar. The 488 Pista will hit 62 miles per hour in just 2.85 seconds and hit 124 mph in 7.6 seconds, topping out at over 211 mph, it is certainly has the power and means to back up the looks.
Now away from the glare of spotlights on a stage, and dare we say a hoard of journalists, a 488 Pista has been spied out in the real world, allowing us to get an even closer view of the latest offering from Maranello.
The 488 Pista features a new front end that puts a massive vent in the bonnet, air routes through the front bumper and then through this hole, help the Ferrari generate more downforce over the nose. The rear of the car also differs from a standard 488, with a blown diffuser and additional vents behind the wheels, and a rear spoiler which is higher and longer than that found on the 488GTB.
The Ferrari 488 Pista is the latest in a line of “Special Series” Supercars that includes the 458 Speciale and the F430 Scuderia, prices have not been announced as of yet, but we expect this limited edition model is probably already sold out…
