Return of the Alfa Romeo 6C?

Fancy an Alfa Romeo two door sports car with the 2.9l V6 Turbo from the Giulia Quadrifoglio under the bonnet? No doubt the answer is a resounding YES! In which case you…and I, could be in luck. According to German tuner Pogea Racing, the Italian car maker is set to relaunch the famous 6C name in 2019. It claims ‘trusted sources within Alfa Romeo’ have confirmed such a car is in it’s forthcoming plans.

Rumours of a Giulia Quadrifoglio based Coupe have been doing the rounds for several months, so it comes as no real surprise we will see one materialise before too long. The Alfa Romeo 6C name was used on road, race, and sports cars produced between 1927 and 1954, like the 8C Supercar from a few years ago, it would herald a revival of a much loved name from Alfa’s history.


Likely to go head to head with BMW’s M4 Coupe, itself due a make over between now and the end of the decade, and Porsche models, a 6C Sports car would strengthen the brand’s position within the prestige market, certainly the V6 Ferrari derived engine would give it the performance, we may even see it being ‘tweaked’ to give it greater performance than currently found in the range topping Quadrifoglio model…
