Set to get it’s launch next year, 2018 will see the arrival of Ferrari’s 488 rival to Lamborghini’s Huracan Performante, we previously reported on the forthcoming Supercar http://enzari.com/news/ferrari-488-gto-caught-on-test/ , now further images of the latest car from Maranello have surfaced from Autoblog.
The V8 engined Italian Stallion is expected to have more turbo pressure and tweaked internals to produce around 700bhp, up from the current GTB version of 661bhp, which Ferrari feel is clearly not enough, rumours also continue to confirm the return of the famous GTO badge. Spied here albeit it camouflaged, the new 488 under test looks like it could sport new front and rear intakes and redesigned front splitter, as well as reworked front and rear fenders.
With a lightened body, stiffened suspension, enhanced brakes, and retuned chassis electronics we expect the GTO to also have special wheels and aerodynamic add-ons. The top speed of what will be a more race focused Ferrari 488 is currently unknown but we expect a 0-62mph of around 2.5 seconds.
Clearly with the Huracan Performante in it’s sight, plus McLaren’s 720S, with a price tag to match, we expect some more spy shots to emerge between now and the cars launch in 2018.
