Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder caught on test

We didn’t think it would be long until Lamborghini launched a drop top version of their insanely fast Huracan Performante. If these photo’s snapped by keen car spies are right it will stay true to the Performante’s styling despite losing the roof.  The two photos of the car caught on test, painted in the signature matt-orange “Arancio Antheus”, provide more than a clue.

The almost visually-unchanged open-air variant will reportedly use the Performante coupe’s 5.2-litre Lamborghini V10, which delivers 470kW and 600Nm of torque, driving through a Haldex AWD system with a self-locking mechanical rear differential.

Claims are being made that the Spyder convertible won’t weigh a lot more than the already-light (1380kg) coupe version of the Huracan Performante. It is expected to get the ‘Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva’ aerodynamic system that helped the Performante coupe achieve a fastest-ever production car lap time around the Nurburgring of 6:52.01.

The Targa-style convertible roof deploys quickly: It has been quoted at 17 seconds to raise or lower – functions that can be carried out at speeds up to 30mph.

the Spyder variant of the Performante is expected to be launched towards the end of this year.
