Mystery 70th anniversary LaFerrari in Abu Dhabi

Earlier this week we reported in images that had emerged of what looked like Ferrari was planning a 70th birthday anniversary LaFerrari. Now it seems more information has emerged on what may or may not be the Italian Supercar makers next one off model.

The mysterious LaFerrari design that surfaced this week in a European Union Intellectual Property Office trademark filing has been identified as an unnamed concept car that is currently on display at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.

The concept, first uncovered by Motor1 and designed by Ferrari head designer Flavio Manzoni, has been showed numerous times in the United Arab Emirates in a variety of guises. The patent drawings actually show the concept with two different style headlamps, one with thin LED strips and one with wider more corporate-looking Ferrari lights. The version displayed at Ferrari World doesn’t have any headlamps at all.

Manzoni had previously said that one of the design proposals for the LaFerrari was being kept a secret, which was assumed to be for a future one-off or limited-run version of the hypercar. He could have been referencing the designs seen in the trademark filing earlier this week, or perhaps the Ferrari Tensostruttura or Ferrari Manta design proposals for the LaFerrari, which are displayed at the Ferrari Museum in Italy.

2017 is Ferrari’s 70th anniversary and it plans on celebrating the occasion in a big way, so we’re expecting to see this design proposal surface as a real car at some point this year. For now, get familiar with the Tensostruttura and Manta concepts in the two videos below.
