Is there a special one off LaFerrari based Supercar on the way from Ferrari?
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Italian carmaker and already we have seen some special edition models unveiled from the prancing horse but it seems there may be another on the way to help in the companies celebrations.
Reported by Autoguide, these mysterious Ferrari design patents were registered last August but were only recently published by the EU Intellectual Property Office.
Although the design patents don’t explain much, it implies that there might a new hypercar under development based on the LaFerrari. It’s a possibility that the mysterious car is a one-off from Ferrari’s Special Project (SP) division that has recently unveiled several creations including the SP275 RW Competizione that is based on the F12tdf and the J50, which was spawned from the 488 Spider.
The LaFerrari’s design is subtle compared to the car seen in the design patents, which feature wild aerodynamics. Up front, the nose looks to have similar styling cues as the J50 but taken up another notch.
Along with the renders, Ferrari filed sketches of the car’s design, which really show off the radical rear end of the hypercar.
If the Italian marque plans to debut this creation sometime this year, it could happen next month at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, a favourite with carmakers for showing its latest creations.
