Pretty Ferrari going for pretty money

It’s a hard decision, money burning a hole
In your pocket, I mean what do you spend £10 million pounds on? Oh yes, a classic Ferrari!

That’s approximately what it will cost to get could get behind the wheels of what is widely regarded as the ‘prettiest Ferrari ever made.’ This 56 year old classic is going up for sale.

The Ferrari 250 GT California Spider has been much sought-after over its several decades of asphalt adventures, and has been owned by an anonymous owner for the past 11 years. Now, it has been put up for sale and will go under the hammer in Arizona on January 19.

According to a report in The Telegraph, the car is based on the Pininfarina design, is powered by the legendary 3-litre V12 engine and has a soft-top roof. While looks and performance do make the car a true-blood winner, it is also its lineage – in terms of owners – which makes it sought after – actors James Coburn and Steve McQueen have been proud owners in the past.

With Ferrari repeatedly refusing to make replicas of its classics, the valuation of the 250 GT California Spider has further increased. In the auction, Bonhams expect the car to fetch in the region of a cool 10 million pounds.
